There was a time when hardcore porn pictures were hard to come across.  They were out there but they were few and far between.  So your great-grandad had to depend on the imagination and talents of artists.  Whatever you could possibly imagine, you could see, courtesy of the pencils and brushes of these talented men (and women!).  I found a few nice samples in this free gallery, courtesy of Vintage Cartoons.

Even in your great-great-grandfather's time, they knew how to have fun

For whatever reason, in spite of our High Definition, digital technology age, I like vintage porn.  While I would probably have to choose porn from the 60′s and 70′s as my favorite era, antique porn would probably come in at a close second.  I refer to stuff that shot in the earliest days of photography and motion pictures.  I can’t help but wonder about the people who made those pictures.  Who were the models?  What was their motive?  Did they photographers do “straight” work as well?  Did their clients have any idea of what was happening in the studio at night?

I recently came across Delta of Venus, a site that seems to focus on ancient porn.  Yes, they have stuff that is newer, though they seem to focus on the years before 1980.  They have a nice selection of preview pictures that you can see here.

Bettie Page and the Vintage Divas sounds like an excellent name for some sort of retro/punk girl band.  Who knows? Maybe there is already a group by that name.  It would be fitting.  Bettie Page was, after all, the queen of the retro pinup girls of the 50′s and 60′s.  She started with some fairly innocent swimsuit modeling, then dropped her top for some pictures that wound up in Playboy and eventually became the most popular fetish model of all time.  Lesbian, bondage, spanking… even bound lesbians being spanked!  Bettie Page did it all and still somehow looked like the girl next door.

She is now the centerpiece of a brand new site called Vintage Divas.  I know this post is going to come across as more of an ad than anything else, and I suppose that is unavoidable.  However, I feel compelled to share the information because I think I know my audience.  I run some very busy classic porn sites, so I “see” thousands of people every day who are looking for an alternative (or a supplement) to contemporary porn.  You love your X-Rated 80′s and That 70′s Porn, but I have seen a definite movement for stuff just a bit earlier than that.  Not vintage porn, exactly, just the earliest days of hardcore.

Is this the world's oldest porn movie?

I like vintage, retro and antique porn.  Don’t get me wrong, I like the stuff they are shooting in Miami, Chatsworth and Bulgaria this afternoon, but there is something about old school porn that has always appealed to me.  Apparently, I am not alone.  My busiest sites are my classic porn sites, That 70′s Porn, Ladies of the 80′s and X-Rated 80′s.  Rodox Retro Porn, which features classic Europorn is just about as busy as those three.  Vintage Classic Porn, Retro Smut and Vintage Porn Movies are sites that deal with older porn.  I’m talking stuff from the 1800′s into the mid-20th century.

As you might expect, I spend a lot of time looking at really old pictures and movies to work on those blogs, so I was surprised to see the movie in the picture above. No, that isn’t Earl Miller.  Miller, of course, is Penthouse Magazine’s most published photographer.  He also runs his own website, EarlMiller.com, where he has posted this video, which he claims is the oldest porn movie in the world.  I don’t know if that is true or not, but if it was shot in 1896 it certainly has to be one of the oldest.  Click here to see it.
