She takes her clothes off in order to sell them

I love irony. I have long noticed the irony of clothes companies taking pictures of models hardly wearing any of their clothes in order to sell their product. And I don’t mean Victoria or those other lingerie places. All of those stores that sell t-shirts with their own name on them to kids willing to pay to advertise for them have been the most guilty.

Hell, a few years ago Abercrombie and Fitch were called out for producing a nearly pornographic Christmas catalog with nude imagery of hot girls, buff guys, threesomes and even tips for better oral sex. (pictured, right)

Well now, in a stunning but pleasant development from the “Anything you can show, I can show more of” Department, comes the latest move from the American fashion industry. American Apparel is now giving their line of clothing to softcore porn photographers and asking them to shoot pictures of their favorite models in, and out, of their fashions.

Notice the picture above. It doesn’t look much different than what you would see hanging at the mall. Except for the fact that this girl strips out of every inch of her “rib tank” and “hot shorts”. Click here to see all of the pictures.

I realize, of course, that the brilliant marketers at American Apparel are using these models, these photographers and my teeny website for some really, really cheap advertising. After all, a typical model shoot would cost them thousands. Now they are getting it for free… well, for the wholesale price of their product line. And a space on this site alone is worth… $1.32 at the very least. And here I have given them a whole post.

Well, I consider it my civic duty. First, to show my fellow pervs that porn is becoming more acceptable all the time. Second, it gives us all a great chance to look at some hot girls. And finally, to warn you fathers out there that if your darling baby girl starts hitting you up for American Apparel (Ask for it by name!), you may want to check her internet history.

All in all, however, I am still waiting for the American advertising industry to catch up with the rest of the world. 10 years ago or so I was in a mall in Argentina, where a clothing store called Motor Oil had some great posters of a hot babe with an unbuttoned blouse shoving her hand inside her panties while she looked right at the camera. Now THAT made me want to buy lots, and lots of clothes.
