Studies Report Another Increase in Female Porn Traffic
Most people are fully aware of the fact that what takes place in the average porn clip isn’t an accurate representation of sex in the real world. Precisely where the appeal of porn lies for so many, providing a welcome escape from reality and the opportunity to indulge almost any fantasy.
But what’s interesting is how, even today, comparatively few men genuinely understand women’s porn preferences. Having been desensitized (and to some extent deceived) by decades of online porn, they’ve reached all the wrong conclusions.
Oiled chests, muscle clad maniacs, tattooed psychopaths hung like horses – all the kinds of things men assume women want to see. When, according to the latest annual insights from porn networks, it actually couldn’t be further from the case.
More Women Tuning In To Online Porn
First and foremost, one of the key findings from the report was the growing prevalence of female viewers watching porn online. With sites like Porndoe and Reality Kings Free increasingly catering to the tastes of women, up to 30% of all traffic now comes from female audiences.
A 2% increase on the year before, but an indication that more women are tuning in to online porn channels than ever before.
In terms of categories, it was interesting to note that the vast majority of most-viewed porn types were the same for male and female audiences. But in terms of the running orders of these top-viewed categories, it was once again clear that the taste of women differs significantly from those of their male counterparts.
For example, videos within the category of “pussy licking” were viewed 260% more often by women than men. Unsurprisingly, it was a similar story with “solo male” videos, viewed 222% more often by female audiences. Lesbian scenes, scissoring and muscular men were also more popular among women – all hovering around the 140% mark.
Lesbian porn was by far the preferred category for women, followed by clips categorized as “popular with women” and Japanese porn in third place. Interestingly, “big dick” porn consumption was more or less equal among male and female audiences.
A Preference for Romantic Porn
When polled directly on their preferences, female porn audiences have a tendency to lean towards a more romantic (or at least realistic) type or porn. Even today, the overwhelming majority of all porn clips are created and uploaded with male audiences in mind.
It’s traditionally been rare to see a porn clip in which the enjoyment of the female participant is prioritized, or even taken into consideration.
These days, things are beginning to take a turn. More women than ever before are demonstrating an interest in sensitive and romantic online porn, where it’s (for once) the man who takes the backseat.
This is also why gay porn is surprisingly popular among women, which has a tendency to be significantly gentler and more romantic than heterosexual porn.
